Appearance on Giles Hutchins' "Leading by Nature" podcast (2026)

I was a guest on "Leading by Nature," a podcast hosted by Giles Hutchins, a leading expert in regenerative leadership. We discussed the background of Kaleido Forest's creation, the spread of the regenerative movement in Japan, and the unique patterns within each of us through the metaphor of a kaleidoscope. We also carefully discussed how my experience in Springwood changed my understanding of the concept of "separation," and how I practice the "three lenses" as a mother and guide.
Makiko Sugashita, Founder & Representative Director of KaleidoForest, appeared as a guest on Giles Hutchins' podcast “Leading by Nature.” The conversation explores regeneration through a Japanese lens —the origins of KaleidoForest, the cultural nuances shaping the regenerative movement in Japan, and the metaphor of a kaleidoscope as a reminder that regeneration begins with relationships.
“A gentle, grounding conversation about connection, culture and leading in service of life.”
